Gaming supervisors monitor gaming operations and personnel in an assigned area. Circulating among the game tables, they see that all stations and games are covered for each shift. It also is common for supervisors to interpret the casino's operating principles for gamblers. Supervisors will also plan and organize activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have certain leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. They need these talents both to supervise employees effectively and to greet bettors in order to encourage return visits. Quite a few casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor's degree. No matter their their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other gambling jobs before moving into supervisory areas because an understanding of games and casino operations is quite essential for these employees.
